The ECU Libraries attempt to have the software most students, faculty, and staff will need when working in a library on our desktop computers and circulating laptops.

Sometimes, however, you might need a specialized software or the installed software might need updating/reinstalling to work properly. Please let a library service desk know of any needs you have so our IT staff can attempt to resolve any issues or consider adding additional software.

If you just need to use most of the Microsoft Office Suite, you may login at office.com to access ECU's Office 365 subscription through an internet web browser. Please note, Access is not currently available through Office 365.

If you need Adobe Creative Cloud, you may login at Creativecloud.Adobe.com. At the top right of the screen, you will see a space to Sign In; you will type in your ECU email address, and click continue. Next you will click on Company or School Account (this verifies that you have a school account.) On the next page, you can search for the application that you need (for example, Adobe Photoshop). Searching for Photoshop should bring up two apps to choose from -- you will need to choose the "Adobe Photoshop (web)" option and click Launch. From here you should be able to work on files that you have previously saved to your Creative Cloud Account or start a new file.

If you need other software (including Access), most software used at ECU is available through ECU's Virtual Computing Lab (VCL) -- consult the full list.  To use the VCL, follow these instructions. You will first need to download and install the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client then add a workspace; the instructions are included in the prior link.

If you need assistance, please consult a library service desk or ITCS.
