Laupus Health Sciences Library has Gone Fine Free for Many Items!

To support affordability and reduce barriers to using the library’s research collections, Laupus Library has eliminated overdue fines for the late return of most library books and physical media as of December 1, 2021. You do still need to renew items or return them, though, because library items that are not returned after the due date will be billed to you as lost.

What's Fine Free at Laupus Library Now?

  • Most booksECU $ spelled in quarters
  • CDs, DVDs, and Videos
  • Charts and Flashcard Kits
  • Bound Journals and Magazines
  • Marker Kits and Poster Tubes

What Has Not Changed?

To encourage equitable and timely access for high-demand items to as many people as possible, our equipment collection, with the exception of marker kits and poster tubes, will have no change in fines or loan period. This is also true for the Anatomical Model collection, reserves, and the High Use Book collection. Laupus Library hotspots are available to all ECU students, faculty, and staff.
