You may renew many types of Joyner Library and Music Library materials (books, DVDs, CDs, etc.) online using the My Account feature of the ECU Libraries Catalog. Equipment and course reserves titles cannot be renewed online.

Instructions about what to enter for the PirateID/LibraryID and ECU Passphrase/PIN are on the login page of My Account, as is a phone number and other links to if you have questions.

  1. Login to My Account.
  2. Select Checkouts.
  3. Notice the column on the right side that lists how many renewals you have left for each item.
  4. If you have renewals left, you may click on the Renew button beside the title. If you have no renewals left, you will need to return the item to the library. If there are no holds on the item for another patron, you may check the item back out immediately.

If the item is overdue, you have other items that are overdue, or you have fines that need to be paid, you will not be able to renew an item even if you have renewals left on it. If an item is currently on hold for another patron, then you will also not be able to renew it.

While logged in to My Account, you will also see everything you have a hold request on, if you have any unpaid overdue fines or other fees, and any items checked out from the interlibrary loan service. You may request a renewal through the ILLiad software for interlibrary loan items using the link beside the item, or contacting the interlibrary loan staff.

If you have questions about your library account, or would like to ask to renew items, please contact the Circulation Desk at 252-328-6518 or circulation@ecu.edu.
