*Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, access to Joyner Library will be limited to ECU students, faculty, and staff with an ECU 1 Card or a current Distance Education Student card. We greatly look forward to the day we can be open to alumni and all of the public again.*
Alumni can gain access to online materials from within the confines either Joyner Library or Laupus Library.
There is currently no option for alumni or other members of the public to access electronic resources remotely.
If using the library's resources in-house is not an option, I would consider contacting your local public library. If you are a North Carolina resident, the local public library can provide you with a password to NCLive and, in doing so, thus allow you access to many of the same databases we provide. For more information, please see below.
Our official policy states, "At this time alums do not have access to the online electronic resources licensed to ECU unless the alums are physically in the library building or currently enrolled in an ECU class. If you are living in North Carolina you can, however, get access to many online electronic resources through NC LIVE. You request the NC LIVE password from your local public library. The password is free. The resources offered by the NC LIVE consortium, as well as information about how to access the resources, are listed at: http://www.nclive.org/index.phtml"
