At Joyner Library and the Music Library, renewals of books, DVDs, CDs, and other materials from the circulating collections are usually allowed, provided that one does not have any unpaid fines or overdue materials. Reference titles, print journals, and Course Reserve items may NOT be renewed.

Renewals can be made in person at the Circulation desk and online through the My Account feature of the ECU Libraries Classic Catalog. You may also request renewals from the Circulation desk by email at and by phone at (252) 328-6518. When calling, please have the items you would like to renew with you. When emailing, please list the titles you would like renewed.

At Laupus Health Sciences Library you can renew your books by calling (252) 744-2219 or by emailing your name and title(s) of books to

You may also renew your books by bringing them into the library or you can renew online by going to the My Account section of the library catalog.

If you have no outstanding fines or overdue materials, items may be renewed up to three times unless there is a recall or hold placed on the items.

For all ECU Libraries

To renew online you will need to login to your account using your Banner ID number (replacing the 'B' with an '8') and using your PIN.

If you are not an ECU affiliate, please enter the barcode number listed on your library card.

  1. A lot of times when you call the the three numbers stated for the pins you get no response. Your pin is just your email name if you're a student e.g. smithj15
