You may ask to checkout items on Course Reserve from the Circulation desk at Joyner Library, the Music Library, or Laupus Health Sciences Library, depending on which library an instructor has placed the items in.
When you ask at the Circulation desk, please know your instructor's name, the course number, and the item's title. If you are missing any of that information, please check your syllabus, or search the course reserves list. For assistance, ask at any library service desk.
To checkout a Course Reserve item, you will need to present your ECU 1 Card at the Circulation desk.
Course Reserve loan periods vary (many are three-hour or one-day), so make sure you know when the item is due back to the Circulation desk. Some Course Reserve titles are for in-library use only. Holds and renewals are not permitted for Course Reserve items. Since Course Reserve items are in high demand, overdue fines are charged for these items: $1.00 per hour or $1.00 per day, depending on the item's loan period; items not returned within seven days of the due date will be billed to your account as lost, a replacement purchased, and not accepted back.
While the ECU Libraries do not have all required course textbooks, we might have some of your textbooks. Please consult our textbook FAQ entry for details. Also please check our e-textbook search tool -- we have ebook editions of many textbooks for many classes available for consultation electronically.
