RefWorks, the citation management program provided to ECU students, faculty, and staff by the ECU Libraries, can export citations directly into ILLiad. Rather than having to copy & paste your citations from RefWorks into ILLiad, you can simply click on the Serial Solutions to export citation details directly into ILLiad's request forms.

STEP 1: Locate your citation in RefWorks & click the Find It! button.

STEP 2: Check the libraries' holdings, including online and in-library using the Classic Catalog. If the ECU Libraries do not have what you need available, select Interlibrary Loan from the More Full Text Options section toward the bottom of the page. In the example below, though, the article is available full-text in the database shown.

STEP 3: If the article were not available online or you did not want to get it from the libraries' physical collections, you would login to ILLiad to request it.

STEP 4: Submit request via ILLiad. Notice the fields are already completed. Simply look through the request form to ensure everything transferred correctly, then click 'Submit.' The example below uses Joyner Library's ILLiad; RefWorks also works with Laupus Health Sciences Library's ILLiad.

If you have questions about how to use this exciting feature, please contact the Joyner Library ILL office or the Laupus Health Sciences Library ILL office.
