ECU students, faculty, and staff, as well as Area Educators, Cooperative Borrowers, Friends of Joyner or Laupus Library, and NC Residents may check out items from the ECU Libraries.

ECU students, faculty, and staff area usually automatically registered for library use. Simply bring the item you would like to borrow (checkout) to the Circulation desk along with your ECU OneCard.

Other borrowers must first register (and pay a membership fee if applicable, i.e. Friends of Joyner or Laupus, NC Residents). Once registered, borrowers need only bring the item for checkout, their library card, and a photo ID for verification to the Circulation desk.

For details on what materials may be checked out, how many items can be checked out at the same time, and the loan periods for materials, visit the respective Circulation Procedure for Joyner Library & the Music Library or for Laupus Health Sciences Library.

If you have any questions about borrowing privileges, please ask at a Circulation desk or call Joyner Library at (252) 328-6518, the Music Library at (252) 328-6250, or Laupus Library at (252) 744-2230.
