Use the library catalog to find books, journals, equipment, federal and state government documents, CDs, DVDs, anatomical models, and other materials in the ECU Libraries. There are many ways to search and browse the catalog, but below are some quick tips. Please ask a librarian if you would like assistance finding something or if you would like to learn more about how to use the catalog.

  • You may search All Fields or use the dropdown to limit your search to Title, Subject, or other options. Omit any initial articles from you search like ‘the’ or ‘an’.
  • You may also use the facets on the left side of the screen under "Find materials by" heading to limit your search to a particular library, material format (e. g. print book or DVD), collection (e. g. North Carolina Collection or Teaching Resources Center), language (e. g. Spanish or French), publication date (i. e. year), etc.
  • Titles that match your search are displayed in the large part of the screen.
  • Scroll through to find your wanted title.
  • Note the call number and location to find the item in the library, or ask at a service desk.
  • If you click on the title, you will see a detailed display that will allow you to click on subject headings for the item that might help you quickly find other materials on your topic, and to read other information on the item.
