You may apply for the Educator Card at Joyner Library Circulation desk. You will need to fill out a borrower agreement form and provide a North Carolina driver license (or other state ID) along with an acceptable form of proof that you are currently an educator. Acceptable forms of documentation include a current school ID card, a copy of your school contract, your current pay-stub from your school, a letter from your school verifying your employment, or documentation from the State of North Carolina verifying your home school status.

You will be given a yellow educator card, which provides access to check out books and media from the ECU Libraries and use the Teaching Resources Center and its Production Center. Please consult our Circulation Procedure for details on material types available to borrow, loan periods, overdue fines, and other borrower responsibilities.

Please note that the Educator Card does not grant holders access to the ECU Libraries' extensive electronic resources remotely due to restrictions in the electronic resources' licensing and purchase terms. These materials include e-books, e-journals, streaming videos, and streaming audio. You may request a community computer access pass at the Circulation Desk for use on the library's computers in the building or you may use your own laptop, phone, or tablet with a password available from the Circulation desk.

Please be aware that you must be re-verified at the start of each school year starting in July of each year.

If you have questions about the Educator Card, please consult the Teaching Resources Center or Circulation at 252-328-4176 or circulation@ecu.edu.
