ECU's Joyner Library and Laupus Health Sciences Library each have separate interlibrary loan services. Both use the ILLiad request management software.

Laupus Library serves as the primary library for the Health Sciences Campus: the Brody School of Medicine, the College of Allied Health Sciences, the College of Nursing, the School of Dental Medicine, the East Carolina Heart Institute, the East Carolina Diabetes and Obesity Institute. If you are a student or an employee of the Division of Health Sciences, you should place your interlibrary loan requests with Laupus' Interlibrary Loan office, where ECU students, faculty, and staff have the option to use their PirateIDs and Passphrases to login to ILLiad, or can place a rush request with the form on the home page. Laupus Library also provides interlibrary loan service to ECU Health Medical Center employees and Eastern AHEC members -- click for details on how to register.

Joyner Library serves as the primary library for all other ECU students, faculty, and staff and offers its own Interlibrary Loan service. ECU students, faculty, and staff use their PirateIDs and Passphrases to login to ILLiad. Joyner Library also provides interlibrary loan service to retired faculty/staff, Friends of Joyner Library, participating Educator Card Schools -- click for details on how to register.

May I visit and use both libraries?

Yes; all members of the ECU community, from all programs, may visit and use materials in both Joyner Library and Laupus Health Sciences Library, including databases, reference and journal collections, course reserves, and circulating collections.

May I request materials from one library be delivered to the other library?

Yes; for books and media items, you may use the Place Hold feature in the Library Catalog to have items delivered to the other library. For scanned copies of articles and book chapters, place your request through ILLiad.
