RefWorks, the citation management program provided to ECU students, faculty, and staff by the ECU Libraries, can export citations directly into ILLiad. Rather than having to copy & paste your citations from RefWorks into ILLiad, you can simply click on the Serial Solutions button in some databases (or another link to interlibrary loan) to export citation details directly into ILLiad's request forms.

STEP 1: Locate your citation in RefWorks & click the Find It! button.

STEP 2: Check the libraries' holdings, including online and in-library using the Catalog or One Search. If the ECU Libraries do not have what you need available, select Request via Interlibrary Loan or send to RefWorks.

STEP 3: If the article were not available online or you did not want to get it from the libraries' physical collections, you may request it through Interlibrary Loan using the ILLiad system.

STEP 4: Submit request via ILLiad. Notice the request form fields in many cases are already filled in by the system copying over citation details. Simply look through the request form to ensure everything transferred correctly, then click 'Submit.'

If you have questions about how to use this exciting feature, please contact the Joyner Library ILL office or the Laupus Health Sciences Library ILL office.
