Joyner Library offers two VHS video tape watching stations in the basement beside the Pirate Cave Math 1065 Lab. Two Blu-Ray disk players are available to check-out from the Circulation desk. CD-ROMs, CDs, and DVDs* may be played in any library desktop or laptop computer.

The Music Library offers playback equipment for the following formats, among them some older ones for which equipment is not readily available elsewhere:

  • Audio cassette tapes
  • Blu-Ray discs
  • CDs
  • CD-ROMs
  • DAT cassette tapes
  • DVDs*
  • Laserdiscs
  • Minidiscs
  • Mini DVs
  • Records: SPs, LPs, EPs, 33 1/3s, 45s, and 78s
  • VHS videocassettes
  • Please note: Headphones must be worn, and patrons must provide them.

* The ECU Libraries do not have an All Region DVD player to play non-US DVDs; however, you may play them on most Windows computers with a DVD drive by following the steps listed below.

  1. Right click on DVD icon
  2. Click Properties
  3. Click Hardware
  4. Select DVD drive
  5. Click Properties
  6. Click DVD Region
  7. Select United Kingdom or one of the other formats
  8. Click OK
